SMP142
Medium pressure sensor for transmission control
Application & Technical Summary
The SMP142 ensures smooth and fast shifting in automatic transmissions by determining the ideal shifting pressure point with an accuracy to a tenth of a bar.
A piezo-resistance wheatstone bridge on the SMP142 membrane transforms pressure into electrically measurable resistance. The level of the electric bridge signal changes proportionally to the bend of the membrane. The resulting signal is processed by an ASIC.
