Restraint systems
In restraint systems, Bosch MEMS sensors detect abrupt vehicle deceleration. This information is the essential input for triggering the release of the vehicle's airbags. The sensor data are processed by the central airbag ECU, which activates adequate restraint systems according to the classification and severity of the accident. The sensors can be installed in the ECU or as satellite sensors in the periphery of the vehicle (front, side and rear).

Vehicle dynamics systems
In vehicle dynamics control systems, Bosch MEMS sensors measure the vehicle rotation around the vertical axis and the lateral acceleration to determine the dynamic state of the vehicle. Our inertial sensors combine both functions in a single housing.

Tire pressure monitoring systems
In Europe, the US and China it is mandatory that vehicles are equipped with Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). The TPMS continuously monitors the wheels and warns the driver immediately if the tire pressure is out of tolerance. Low tire pressure can result in unsafe or inefficient driving conditions. The Bosch tire pressure sensor is a state-of-the-art sensor module for a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) with a Bluetooth interface.
