SX601 / SX600 - Radar SoC
Fully integrated automotive radar system-on-chip
Application & Technical Summary
The SX601 and SX600 are single-chip frequency-modulated constant waveform (FMCW) radar system-on-chip (SoC) operating in the automotive 76-81 GHz band, with radar data processing and peripherals for in-vehicle networking. They are built in an advanced 22nm FD-SOI RFCMOS technology, which is leveraged to provide excellent millimeter wave sensing performance with high digital integration density at low power dissipation.
The SX601 is designed for high-compute applications, e.g., sensor fusion, object classification and tracking, and decision making. The SX600 is frontend compatible and pin compatible and is designed for applications with lower compute requirements.
Both SoC comprise:
- A millimeter-wave sensing frontend with 4 transmitters, 4 receivers and a Chirp generator
- A powerful digital signal processor for both conventional and AI-based radar pre-processing
- A microcontroller subsystem with on-chip memory for application software
- Various interfaces to connect to the vehicle bus, e.g. CAN-XL and Ethernet
The devices feature extensive monitoring capabilities and are designed to meet ISO-26262 ASIL-B safety requirements
Product benefits
- Excellent radar performance at low power dissipation
- Optimized chip variants SX601 and SX600 depending on sensor compute requirements
- Simple design-in due to hardware and software compatibility
Target application:
- Radar SoC for conventional patch antenna PCBs and waveguide antennas
