SMA8xy is a family of versatile 1-,2- and 3-channel high-g accelerometers for automotive passive safety systems.

The family member SMA889 is a triaxial-channel, high-g accelerometer with PSI5 interface. The sensor is intended for airbag systems, providing front or side crash information.

Power and digital communication are handled via the same 2-wire connection.
