And the winner is: Bosch’s SMP290 MEMS sensor for TPMS
Best of Sensors Award 2025 in the category “Best Automotive & Mobility Solution”
We are proud to announce that our new SMP290 MEMS sensor for tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) has won the Best of Sensors Award 2025 in the category Best Automotive & Mobility Solution. This prestigious award recognizes the technologies that make an impact today and set the stage for the future. Our win underlines the relevance of energy efficiency and safety in today’s and tomorrow’s mobility – and shows that Bosch is deservedly among the world’s technology leaders and largest suppliers of MEMS sensors for vehicles.
A small sensor with big potential
The SMP290 is very compact and a true team player. What sets it apart from other solutions is its ability to reduce system complexity: As the only fully integrated solution for TPMS with a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) interface on the market, the SMP290 can easily be integrated into existing vehicle architectures. Moreover, its extremely low energy consumption ensures a long-life span of tire pressure sensors of up to ten years.
These benefits were among the many reasons for the jury to select our SMP290 for a Best of Sensors Award, underlining the innovative nature of the solution. Each year, the renowned awards honor the technologies, companies, and individuals that define the future of sensors, electronics, and AI. The award ceremony took place on June 25 – and the SMP290 won over four other nominated solutions.
