Application & Technical Summary


The SMP147 ensures smooth and fast shifting in automatic transmissions by determining the ideal shifting pressure point with an accuracy to a tenth of a bar.

A piezo-resistance wheatstone bridge on the SMP147 membrane transforms pressure into electrically measurable resistance. The level of the electric bridge signal changes proportionally to the bend of the membrane. Signal conditioning and processing is performed by the ASIC.
